Jume was selected as the winner of the tender based on a combination of factors. Chief among them was the platform’s flexibility and scalability, which enables the deployment of any IBP module without restrictions on the number of users or data volume. Another key advantage was the platform’s built-in intelligence—machine learning and mathematical optimizers. The customer also valued Jume’s team experience with top-tier planning systems like Anaplan and O9 Solutions, as well as their understanding of the dairy industry’s specific needs.

One of the tender’s requirements was a tight deadline: several modules had to go live by November 2023. The vendor had to be ready for a parallel rollout—reproducing and enhancing required functionality on the new platform while simultaneously integrating with existing IT systems.

Around 70 people were involved in the joint project team. The automation process included customization aligned with the unique business needs—particularly the handling of perishable goods. To date, five software modules have been implemented and are actively running:

• Promotion planning and optimization, from retail chains to individual stores
• Demand forecasting
• Inter-warehouse transfers and redistribution of finished goods
• End-to-end production planning (balancing production, supply, sales, and distribution)
• Safety stock planning with a cost simulation tool
  

The platform now supports 200+ active users simultaneously. The transition to Jume enabled the customer to support its core planning processes without any loss of functionality, while also delivering an improved user experience. The use of machine learning and optimization algorithms led to significant business performance improvements:

• 1% reduction in procurement costs for the primary raw material—milk. In a tight supply market, this is a meaningful figure, as producers fight for every percentage point of cost efficiency.
